Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park
Here are a few photo's of my trip to Hodgenville, KY the birth place of Abraham Lincoln. This was the first time I have been to a National Historic Park, where I felt I knew more than the park rangers. Our first tour guide was on her first day of giving tours. She did a good job considering. The second ranger inside the monument had been on the job about one month. He had been an army recruiter, active in Civil War reenactments, a very nice and interesting person . I wrote down Rogers web site and discussion web site address for him, so who knows. It wasn't busy for a Saturday, so we had a nice conversation.

I couldn't get a good picture I liked of the cabin, so I'll save that for another time. It was a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky. And as I learned from my trip to Springfield, a trip is not complete until you visit the cemetery to pay respects to those who played a part in history.

The Lincoln Boyhood Home National Park was a big disappointment.
A pleasant surprise of the trip was the Lincoln Museum. I asked permission before I took a few pictures of the dioramas. This was well worth the visit. https://www.flickr.com/photos/105898294@...641469472/

I was very restrained at the Nancy Lincoln gift shop. I purchased just one book. Abraham Lincoln: A Living Legacy

Great photos and interesting info about the homes where Lincoln lived that are now National Parks.

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?
