Thank you for posting this, Christine. My dad died in 1970, and I still think about him everyday.

I agree, Linda - Herb, you are certainly a credit to perseverance and dedication! My dad has been gone 33 years and I miss him every day - he was an inspiration in itself. I often times think to myself "What would daddy do?" when confronted with different dilemmas.

Herb, You are a fine example of people who can survive a negative atmosphere and turn it into a positive future. This world needs more people like you - and fewer whiners who place the blame on others. You go, guy!

Wonderfully worded, Laurie! Herb - you are a "Stayer!" as they say in the horse-racing world.....you are a wonderful person and I, along with all of us, are proud to know you! Bless you for what you've accomplished! "The Past is a foreign country...they do things differently there" - L. P. Hartley

| RE: Father's Day
Like Herb, I had an abusive father. I was 30 years old before I resolved my anger about it and moved on. Still, I'm able to reflect that he was my father ( he is passed away)- and I'm thankful for the good things he did. Now that I've been a father for 37 years and a grandfather for 17 years- I have more perspective on fatherhood than I had before. There are no training schools for parents- no manuals. So to all the fathers and grandfathers out there- Happy Father's Day.

Herb: that is good- some people never do. Unforgiveness ultimately hurts the victims the worst.
