RE: Father's Day
Thank you for posting this, Christine. My dad died in 1970, and I still think about him everyday.

RE: Father's Day
I sure miss my dad as well - he was the BEST! I credit him with giving me my love of history - an all around great guy and Dad!

I miss my dad's guidance more each day, and it has been 35 years since he passed.

I'm sorry to hear that, Herb. It's wonderful that you managed to turn his legacy around.

I agree, Linda - Herb, you are certainly a credit to perseverance and dedication! My dad has been gone 33 years and I miss him every day - he was an inspiration in itself. I often times think to myself "What would daddy do?" when confronted with different dilemmas.

RE: Father's Day
Herb,

You are a fine example of people who can survive a negative atmosphere and turn it into a positive future. This world needs more people like you - and fewer whiners who place the blame on others. You go, guy!

Wonderfully worded, Laurie!

Herb - you are a "Stayer!" as they say in the horse-racing world.....you are a wonderful person and I, along with all of us, are proud to know you! Bless you for what you've accomplished!

RE: Father's Day
Like Herb, I had an abusive father. I was 30 years old before I resolved my anger about it and moved on. Still, I'm able to reflect that he was my father ( he is passed away)- and I'm thankful for the good things he did. Now that I've been a father for 37 years and a grandfather for 17 years- I have more perspective on fatherhood than I had before. There are no training schools for parents- no manuals. So to all the fathers and grandfathers out there- Happy Father's Day.

Herb: that is good- some people never do. Unforgiveness ultimately hurts the victims the worst.
