Lincoln yarn on Turner Classic Movies
Wednesday, June 18th, 8:30 am, Turner Classic Movies (TCM)
Screen Directors Playhouse

LINCOLN'S DOCTOR'S DOG (1955)
During the dark days of the Civil War, a doctor gives President Lincoln a puppy to buoy his spirits. (26min.)

I've watched a few of these-they have a famous director (like John Ford) direct a half-hour vignette.
Not bad sometimes.

But what will Abe name the dog???Smile

I think it's based on the old publishing joke that since books about dogs, doctors, or Lincoln were always bestsellers, someone needed to write a book called Lincoln's Doctor's Dog, and it would be a surefire hit!

I'm secure in with my place in history. Plus it helped that Billy Herndon liked me.
(But what's not to like)

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?
