The Assassin's Doctor: The Life and Letters of Dr. Samuel A. Mudd
My new, and undoubtedly last, book on Dr. Mudd — The Assassin’s Doctor: The Life and Letters of Dr. Samuel A. Mudd — is now available at Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Assassins-Doctor-L...27s+Doctor

This is a big 730 page book. It includes pretty much everything I know about Dr. Mudd, plus the full text of many historical documents concerning him. This should make it a handy reference for anyone researching his life.

Wholesale pricing is available for bookstores and other resellers at:

How exciting, Bob! Your scholarship of Dr. Mudd has been unparalleled thus far and I'm sure this book will continue in that proud tradition.

Now, the real question is, how do I go about getting an autographed copy?

I just did my one click order at Amazon. I am also forwarding the information to our gift shop manager at Surratt House. I agree with Dave on your work and on the pleasant detail that you look for factual information on Dr. Mudd's role in history in general.

Congratulations, Bob. I have your other books and will add this one. Are you still working on the revision of your website?

Wonderful! I'm ordering a copy as well.... I LOVE big, thick books!

Thanks, Dave. My address is: 3820 North Dittmar Road, Arlington, Virginia. The next time you are up this way, please bring your copy by and I’ll be glad to sign it. It would be great to meet you.

Thanks, Laurie. I know shelf space for books is limited, so I appreciate your considering it.

Hi Roger. I haven’t spent much time on anything for the past several weeks except the new book, but I haven’t forgotten the web site. I want to have the new book and the web site complement, but not duplicate, each other. For example, I have a number of videos for the web site that obviously can’t go in a book. And a lot more photos. I’ll figure it out, hopefully sooner rather than later.

As we speak, we have torn out one of the recessed showcases in our gift shop to make room for more books. They are the #1 priority in our shop because they are by far the best sellers.

I just received my copy. I have been scanning the index and reading interesting sections which are many. There are quite a few letters which I did not know existed and a new photograph of Frankie Mudd. This book is the Mudd encyclopedia. Thanks Bob!

Thanks, Rich. “The Mudd Encyclopedia” — I wish I’d thought of that. It would have made a great sub-title for the book.
