230 pages of different and interesting information by Ed Steers. 2 chapters on the Gettysburg address, a chapter debunking the Lincoln is Gay myth, but my favorite chapters were about the missing pages from Booth's diary and the one on Ray Neff and the Potter Papers.

I bought a brand new copy on Amazon for less than $5, I think it was a bargain!

I second Gene (although I paid a lot more). Ed did a marvelous job in this book. Among my favorite characters that Ed covers is "Coughdrop Joey" Ratto. Joey mistakenly became known as the "man who held Booth's horse."

I think without a doubt the best treatment of the Wilma Minor affair is in Don Fehrenbacher's masterful Lincoln in Text and Context, which is a collection of essays written by the late Lincoln historian. She will also make appearances in my books on Tarbell and Sandburg.

"Coughdrop Joey" Ratto would be a great Mafia name. Despite the fact that at least one Italian,Pope Pius IX,has been accused of being involved in the conspiracy,I am unaware of anyone who has accused the Mafia of participation.

I love John Carradine too. He was quite prolific as an actor. Remember when he played a preacher who was blinded in the TV series Kung Fu? His nickname for Caine (Daivid Carradine) was "little brother."

HA! That was my favorite too! As someone who is more than a little tired of reading about Angel Annie and Lincoln's(alleged) great love for her, I took wicked delight in having all those letters revealed as fake. They were so corny anyway, almost as bad as the Edgar Lee Masters "Spoon River Anthology" poem.
