RE: Exciting New Children's Book On The Way
Today, I was suprised by my wife to learn that an article about my book was printed in my local Daily Herald. It was a proud moment that I would like to share with this forum. Everyone here has been so kind and supportive of this book. Thank you all. http://www.dailyherald.com/article/20140...140508924/

Fantastic, Mike!

We're proud of you -- your book is grad and I agree with Roger. It certainly does deserve all the accolades.

They were Eva. They were treating me like a Rock Star last night for about 5 minutes. Then it was over and off to Little League and then the nightly battle of getting them to bed.

I bet their pride will show when they go to school and some other kids mention that their dad (you) was written about in the newspaper. I'm also hoping that maybe AP will pick up on it as a human interest story - especially with the 150 commemoration coming up -- and spread it across the wires. You really did a great job with that book.

Congratulations Mike! This is will help keep the history alive. So much of it is not covered in schools anymore.

I can see them now. My oldest has the Irish gene. Red hair and pale complexion. He turns Red as a lobster when he is all proud. My middle has no teeth, his wide smile looks like a Jack-o-lantern.

RE: Exciting New Children's Book On The Way
Mike,

As I believe I've told you, I grew up in Winfield, IL and my parents still live there. They've received the Daily Herald newspaper for as long as I've been alive. In the mail today I received a copy of the article and a note from my parents asking if I've heard of this book. I called them right up on the phone and said not only had I heard about (and bought) this wonderful book, but I know the author!

Congrats, Mike!

RE: Exciting New Children's Book On The Way
Civil War days in Naperville, IL

Naper Settlement is transformed into a Civil War encampment where visitors can meet famous figures of the past and experience firsthand a turbulent time period in our nation’s history. Hundreds of reenactors participate, staging a battle complete with raging cannons and marching infantry. Learn how the nation changed through the insights of famous people who made a difference in history.

An annual tradition at Naper Settlement for over 25 years, the family-friendly event features food, fun and shopping on "Sutler's Row" for traditional Civil War-era reproduction products.

To my suprise, my book was on hand.
