Bless your heart, Laurie, and thank you for jumping ALL OVER THIS NONSENSE!

Had the marketing folks at NatGeo run this copy by me, it never would've been posted with those errors. Such inaccuracies are NOWHERE in my script, nor in the finished film. And, of course, the marketing "teaser" is utterly abstract. Yet, I wonder if you can spot the continuity problem with THAT? (So far, I'm the only one to spot the problem). NatGeo is doing a great job advertising the film (their marketing plan is wonderful) but...what a tremendous example this is of how "history" is made. I.E....we have made the film and the very smart and clever folks at NatGeo have proceeded to market it. Yet, in spite of the fact that it is patently clear on screen that Booth was killed in Virginia and, to quote: "And Mary Surratt becomes the first woman ever to be executed by the United States federal government when she joins Powell, Atzerodt and Herold on a scaffold at the Old Arsenal Penitentiary"...these mistakes were committed to print.

No wonder we all continue to pore over testimony and accounts and tales told, all of us seeking to ferret out the closest thing to an elusive "truth."

I am fiercely pleased with what we have accomplished with the film and I do feel that you will be justifiably proud of your "special thanks" along with other on these boards for helping me to craft NatGeo's KILLING LINCOLN. And I look forward to talking about it at the conference.
