I noticed that, too. I am used to seeing "A Lincoln."

But here is another thought:

But I’m also making sure it’s signed ‘Abraham Lincoln’ not ‘A Lincoln’, because Lincoln signed his letters ‘A Lincoln’ but these formal documents were always signed with his full name. One signed the wrong way is pretty much as close to the kiss of death as you can get. He was consistent in his practice.”
