Lincoln "on display" in Madison NJ
Madison, NJ, a quaint bedroom community 35 miles west of New York City, displays a painting of Lincoln by the artist, W.F.K. Travers, in its borough hall. The desk and chair Lincoln used while serving in the House of Representatives is there too.

In the 1930s, the well-to-do Dodge family donated the stately building to the town of Madison in memory of their son, Marcellus Hartley Dodge, Jr. The magnificent building, originally intended to be a museum before Dodge Jr’s unexpected death, came with a treasure trove of artifacts, including Travers’s painting and a Rodin sculpture.

The painting is on display in the hall’s council chambers.

The Rodin bust "sat" in the borough hall for decades. An article about the Rodin bust is found here: https://patch.com/new-jersey/madison/mul...hall-years

The LOC has a photograph of the Travers painting: https://www.loc.gov/item/scsm000646/
