Lincoln did not run for the Illinois legislature in those two years.
Ok, so if I get it right, a congressional Whig nomination is not "included" (I don't know how to out this, sorry) in Illinois legislature...
My question sounds stupid now that I'm saying out loud. Politics is not my strong suit haha. Ironically, I'm writing a whole thesis about it.
Anyway, in Essays on Lincoln's Faith and Politics, Hans J. Morgenthau referred to those episodes as "running for the Illinois legislature". I can take a picture of the excerpt but I don't know how to insert it here!
PS: I'm loving the forum. You have no idea how much this helps and encourages me. Not so many people are interested in Lincoln in my surroundings.
