Thanks, Roger. This is the very same picture that I tried to post. There were a number of options from which to choose.

The photograph shows the strong character of Lincoln even before Lincoln followed the good advice of Grace Bedell sent him in a letter from Westfield, New York, urging him to grow a beard to improve his appearance.
