Barrel reminds me just of the following story:
New Salem resident Daniel Green Burner recalled Lincoln handling such barrels as follows: "Physically, Mr. Lincoln was the strongest man I ever knew. That is saying a good deal. Let me tell you what I saw him do. He took a full barrel of whisky, containing forty-four gallons, gripping each end with one hand, raised it deliberately to his face and drank from the bunghole."
(He allegedly won a 10$ hat for doing this.)
