RE: Extra Credit Questions
A strange incident happened on October 12, 1860, in Columbus, Georgia, at the Cook's Hotel. Matthew Canning accidentally shot John Wilkes Booth in the thigh (or thereabouts) as the two men were "playing" with a pistol in Booth's room.
Feeling bad, Canning scheduled a benefit performance (Julius Caesar) for John Wilkes Booth. This is the amount Booth received from the benefit performance? |
