Booth's Gun Questions

I heard that Booth wanted a backup pistol,just incase of a missfire.So,this shows how well planed his deranged thoughts were!People have told me that the derringer can very deadly at a close range.

He would have been wise to have a back-up but I don't know of any source that verifies that he did. There have been several guns that supposedly were picked at the theatre or found elsewhere that supposedly belonged to Booth.
