I am going to confuse the Kirby/Surratt issue even more. When the Neales and young John Surratt, Sr. were in the area called Oxon Hill Hundred, it was part of Washington City - not Maryland. Even today, the portion where the mill was, etc. is still in Southeast D.C. in what is now Congress Heights.
