Can you give us any tidbit about the connections of JWB and JD with Michigan?

Two key players in the capture of John Wilkes Booth were from Michigan. They spent their childhood in Lansing and after the Civil War came back to Lansing and set up shop. Jefferson Davis was captured by the Michigan 4th cavalry from Detroit.
