My favorite is Wilma Frances Minor, the young lady who fooled so many experts with fake A.-Lincoln-Ann-Ruthledge letters...(I'm pretty sure her age, sex and appearance made the greatest part of her initial success.)

HA! That was my favorite too! As someone who is more than a little tired of reading about Angel Annie and Lincoln's(alleged) great love for her, I took wicked delight in having all those letters revealed as fake. They were so corny anyway, almost as bad as the Edgar Lee Masters "Spoon River Anthology" poem.
