Helping kids and getting them interested in Lincoln
Every year Barnes and Noble has a Holiday Book Drive in which individual stores pick various youth groups or schools whose students otherwise might not get a book and then ask customers to purchase one or more which will then be donated to them. I had an idea this year that I would like to share in case some of you are wondering how you could help some local kids and just maybe get them interested in Lincoln.
There are a number of very good juvenile biographies of Lincoln below $10 (some below $5). If you purchased a couple and donated them next time you are in your local BN, that might just be the spark to start someone down the same road we've all traveled. I'm donating three. Just a thought. Best Rob Abraham Lincoln is the only man, dead or alive, with whom I could have spent five years without one hour of boredom. --Ida M. Tarbell
I want the respect of intelligent men, but I will choose for myself the intelligent. --Carl Sandburg
