RE: Extra Credit Questions
JAG Joseph Holt's home has been undergoing rehab, so I will guess that it's his.

We are in desperate need of exterior work in all areas, and moisture coming in from the outside is creating interior problems. Somehow, government restorations of historic sites always take backseats to other budget items until the situation becomes dire. |

RE: Extra Credit Questions
I have no idea, but I will guess it's the Ninian Edwards home where Abraham and Mary were married.

RE: Extra Credit Questions
I am sorry, Rob, but that's not it.
Hint #1: This is a general American history question that is not specifically related to Abraham Lincoln. However, the event which is directly related to this house has been mentioned previously on this forum. |

RE: Extra Credit Questions
Was it an event during Lincoln's lifetime? If so, did he know thereof?
Please allow another question - was it a private event (birth, marriage, death,...)? |

RE: Extra Credit Questions
Eva, it did not happen during Lincoln's lifetime, and yes - it was a private event as you mention. Steve, it was not the house where Garfield died.

RE: Extra Credit Questions
If I twist my head and screw my eyes up I could kid myself that it almost looks a bit like President Ulysses Grant's house in Galena before there were some major changes.
