RE: Assassination Trivia
I'm confused because John C. Breckinridge was a Confederate on the run at the time of the assassination, wasn't he?

RE: Assassination Trivia
Whether one was a Confederate or not does not have to do with the answer. You will see what I mean when the correct answer is posted.
Hint #3: The correct answer involves a building that still stands today. |

RE: Assassination Trivia
I cannot think of any more clues, so I shall just give the answer.
All three men, during their terms in Congress, boarded at one time or another at the Petersen House. SOURCE: p. 7 of Kathy Canavan's excellent book. |

RE: Assassination Trivia
Which person whose name is in a good many Lincoln assassination books later died of a heart attack as he was purchasing a pair of gloves?

RE: Assassination Trivia
Thanks Roger. I haven't worn gloves, other than the winter type, since the 1970s. My grandfather was a glove cutter. I will add these to my collection.

RE: Assassination Trivia
I could put this in another category, but because it was said by a person who is part of the assassination saga, I will put it here.
What person described Abraham Lincoln as follows: "...one of the gentlest, best and loveliest men I ever knew. I never saw him out of temper - the kindest husband, the tenderest father, the truest friend, as well as the wisest statesman." |

John Hay? Or one of the physicians?
