Emancipation Day and Income Tax Filing Deadline
Many of you may know this but I wasn't aware of the connection between tax filing deadlines and Emancipation Day.

RE: Emancipation Day and Income Tax Filing Deadline
I noticed that the reporter flubbed up by reporting that the Emancipation Proclamation freed the slaves in the South eight months later... Also, Mr. Lincoln had promised the State of Maryland compensation if they freed their slaves (as in D.C.) and then never came through with the payments when they did on November 1, 1864.

RE: Emancipation Day and Income Tax Filing Deadline
It's the same day as the 7:22 wreath laying at the Petersen House. While it won't be as crowded as last year, I need to work on my John Wayne impression when 7:22 comes.
