President Lincoln’s Cottage will commemorate Abraham Lincoln’s lasting legacy with our second annual forum of leading experts in contemporary issues related to the 16th President’s ideas on freedom and liberty.

WHEN: Wednesday, April 13, 2015, 1:30pm–3:30pm. RSVP here by 5 pm on Tuesday, April 12, 2015.

There is no cost to attend this event, but space is limited to 60 attendees.

WHAT: Notable thinkers will come together at President Lincoln’s Cottage for a dynamic symposium exploring the intersection of President Lincoln’s life and legacy with contemporary issues including trafficking and migration, economic policy, reconciliation after civil war, and the psychological legacy of slavery.

Speakers include Ted Maris-Wolf, Vice President of Education, Research, and Historical Interpretation, Colonial Williamsburg Foundation; Katherine Chon, Director of the Office on Trafficking in Persons, Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; Richard Vedder, Distinguished Professor of Economics Emeritus, Ohio University; Olivia Dreier, Executive Director, Karuna Center for Peacebuilding; Katie Mansfield, Director, Eastern Mennonite University’s Center for Justice and Peacebuilding Strategies for Trauma Awareness and Resilience Program; and Raymond Zeigler, MA student, Eastern Mennonite University’s Center for Justice and Peacebuilding.
