What would Lincoln say about the present day elections for President for 2016?

Starting to sound better as the weeks wear on.

At the Lincoln Museum in Springfield, there is a section about the election of 1860. The tone of this years election is nothing compared to what was being said then about Abraham Lincoln and Mary too.
My wife was very surprised about the things the press said about her during and following the election.

Does this mean I have an endorser?

Let me say this. I think you probably have more moral fiber and respect for right and wrong than at least two of the people currently pursuing the position.

It does seem that way, however, I just wonder if Trump is smart enough to know that his campaign style is much like Andrew Jackson? I also wonder if he knows who Andrew Jackson is. They are now comparing him to George Wallace, the ex-Governor of Alabama during the 60's. He does seem very similar. I am still trying to get past his comments about not knowing who David Duke is.

Well, not yet, anyway. You can google and read about his ties to organized crime and the mob, relative to the unions and the gambling casino's. I might not put it past him, especially when you see poor Chris Christie standing behind him and supporting him. You just have to wonder why?????

The Jackson vs. Adams fight was acrimonious.

Knowing how difficult the campaign would be on his wife, perhaps it would have been better if Jackson has not run for the presidency in 1828 just like it would have been better if Seward had left Washington after Powell's attack so that his daughter Fanny could have gotten away from the horrible memories in the Old Clubhouse which probably hastened her death at age 21 the following year.
