Shaping Lincoln’s Image
Very good article in the February issue of Smithsonian Magazine.

RE: Shaping Lincoln’s Image
Kieran, I have seen quite a few reviews of this book. There is a new one on the USA Today website here.

RE: Shaping Lincoln’s Image
Interesting comment from Hay- noting that Lincoln died (not literally) during his last election season- not at Ford's.

RE: Shaping Lincoln’s Image
I visited John Hay's grave in Cleveland last year. It struck me that this man who had done so much work to "shape Lincoln's image"- and had such a noteworthy career himself- has nothing visable at his grave to note who he was and what he did.

RE: Shaping Lincoln’s Image
Bill, I saw photos of the grave on another site and I had the same thought!
