Newspaper Comic Srips - Life of Lincoln
Newspaper comic strip collection on the life of Abraham Lincoln.
Not sure how old this is, or what newspapers it may be from, but it's interesting. https://archive.org/details/lifeofabrahamlin00mans So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |

The book cover has "1905" on it- which may be the publication date? Nice drawings. Reminds me of today's graphic novels.

Gene, this is great!! Thanks for posting. I agree with Bill that it is reminiscent of today's graphic novels. This is certainly a good way to engage readers of all ages. It kind of looks like these were collected together into a book. Is it possible they were orginally serial newspaper cartoons?

RE: Newspaper Comic Srips - Life of Lincoln
I noted that a few of the cartoons said "McClure's Syndicate" or some such thing about "McClure's Magazine...."

Yes, they also were later printed into a book. They have also been reprinted, but my luck with quality reprints hasn't been good when it comes to books with lots of pictures and illustrations. http://www.amazon.com/Life-Abraham-Linco...+mansfield You can probably find an old original copy for around $20, but the paper is usually of poorer quality. McClure Syndicate was the first American newspaper syndicate according to Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McClure_New..._Syndicate So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |
