RE: ON TV Right NOW
I received an e-mail this past week from a friend who is a director at a Federal period, ritzy house museum asking why the wave of Lincoln- and assassination-related attention all of a sudden. I mentioned a little thing like the 2009 Bicentennial of Lincoln's birth and the Sesquicentennial of the Civil War maybe being contributing factors. Or, maybe Americans (especially media type) are finally learning to appreciate history and Lincoln is the best-known place to start. Dare we hope?

RE: ON TV Right NOW
Monday, May 26th, at 9PM EST, on PBS. Death and the Civil War. I believe much of this is based upon the book "This Republic of Suffering"

See thread "Death and the Civil War" under "OTHER"

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?

Looks good - and I'll be watching...but OMG - BAD costuming on the one lady....nothing like that frilly confection would have been allowed in a hospital - much less worn on a muddy, manure-filled street....MEOW!!

And boy, did Miss Dix make that quite clear in the early scenes! Looks very good so far.

RE: ON TV Right NOW
I just watched the first episode while looking for tickets to Ice Nine Kills' Baltimore show at the same time and was surprised that the guy who played Ted Mosby on How I Met Your Mother is in it.

PS: My parents said no to letting me go because they think Ice Nine Kills' music is garbage. It is not garbage.
