I cheated, Eva. When you mentioned Good Friday morning I started looking at W. Emerson Reck's book on Lincoln's last day. And I found the man's picture on p. 11. It's Eli K. Price.

A. I don't know/recall whom (?) he would describe (if B. was right).

(A. The description would match Stephen Douglas, but the style of language somehow isn't in line with anyone I could think of to describe Douglas.)
