RE: Assassination Trivia
If I am subjected to that John Stevenson story one more time, I will gladly hop on board that ship that is headed for Mobile right now!

I can't read that. I can make out hat and pistol and maybe Payne?

Joe, blame my cheaper scanner and the guy who tries to operate it (scan came from Shelton's book).

Close enough - that is Eckert's written receipt for Payne's (Powell's) hat and pistol.

You already won free passes to Fred Smith's; I am now sending a free lifetime parking pass for everytime you go.

It reads:

April 26, 1865
Received of Col. Jno. A. Foster, Judge Advocate, the hat & pistol left in the house of Sec. Seward by Payne on the night of the assassination.

RE: Assassination Trivia
How times have changed (or maybe not) My parents would have freaked out Sad if I had come home from college looking like that. And I would have done the same if my son came home from college looking like that. Looks can be deceiving. As my wife says "he's only a good haircut away from looking normal"

You win, Betty. Kudos. Augur looks like he may have had the same problem Lewis Powell had in prison.

As with Gene, you win a free cruise aboard the Carnival Triumph as soon as they complete the ship's wiping down. As a special bonus, I have arranged that your families, relatives, etc. can go, too.

P.S. Is that Fido?

I think Rich nailed it. Rich- I drove through Milford yesterday. Somebody needs to have a sit down with the road department.

RE: Assassination Trivia
Good job, Rich and Joe. That is Richard Mudd with the couch where Dr. Samuel Mudd examined JWB's leg. Richard Mudd had the couch renovated in a Saginaw, Michigan, upholstery shop in 1953, and the picture is from the May 10, 1953, edition of the Saginaw News.

I forgot to give a prize to Gene yesterday for correctly answering the trivia question about President Tyler's dog.

I am sending all three of you gentlemen free concrete couches from you know where.
