I'll take it! I appreciate his kind of politics. And, read into that what you will...

Laurie, if you can get the statue with a garden I'd go for this one:
[attachment=2182]
The owl was/is a symbol of wisdom and a symbol of the city and state of Athens in ancient Greece - and depicted on the first "€", i.e. oldest widely and "internationally" used coins:
[attachment=2183]
Sadly Greece nowadays has become somewhat detached from wisdom on the subject of money, also nowadays the owls would most likely drop down dead from the trees in summer as Greece is by far Europe's smog capital...

And as you can read here, President Theodore Roosevelt used a Classical Owl as a pocket piece, which inspired him to order the redesign of U.S. coins early last century:

A common German proverb - "carrying owls to Athens" (for doing something superfluous) - derived from ancient Greek writer Aristophanes' "Who brings owls to Athens? — Euelpides".

When cheating - er, I mean researching, I found the statue here - please scroll down for a real HOT Obama statue in China:

Why do I have the feeling that your seated Truman statue will wash away with the first good rain?

I researched the same page on mentalfloss, however, I refrain from posting what my thoughts were in regards to the Obama creation. Let's just say they were similar to my first reaction to his election in 2008 and doubled in 2012...

Eva, thanks for posting that link. I wonder how many folks knew there was a statue of Rutherford B. Hayes in Paraguay!

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - Eva Elisabeth - 03-10-2016 09:12 AM

I wonder if there's any president without a statue anywhere (US incl.)?

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - RJNorton - 03-10-2016 09:47 AM

Rapid City, South Dakota, has statues of all U.S. Presidents except for President Obama. He will be added once he leaves office.

Example: here is Rapid City's Millard Fillmore:

How cool and educational (especially for a visual person like I am) - would love to see!!!!

This statue is located in the United States. In which state is it located?

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - Rogerm - 03-11-2016 10:40 AM

Virginia?

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - Eva Elisabeth - 03-11-2016 10:41 AM

I'm very bad at statues, so I take the statistically probably most likely first - Illinois?

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - RJNorton - 03-11-2016 11:15 AM

Excellent thinking, Eva. It's not Illinois, but this statue is located in one of the states Lincoln was in during his lifetime.

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - Eva Elisabeth - 03-11-2016 01:47 PM

Ohio?

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - RJNorton - 03-11-2016 02:35 PM

That is another logical try, Eva, but it's not Ohio.

Hint #1: Something is located in this state which several members of this forum, including me, have poked fun at.

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - Eva Elisabeth - 03-11-2016 03:22 PM

Wisconsin!!!!! (I'm looking forward to Fred's...)

Well, upon reconsideration I'd prefer to see the statue you posted!

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - RJNorton - 03-11-2016 04:24 PM

Great job, Eva! It is located in Neenah, Wisconsin.

I will look into presenting you with a free trip to Wisconsin. In Wisconsin you can go to Neenah and then to Phillips to see Fred's stuff. Then you will be whisked away to Rapid City, South Dakota, to see all the Presidents' statues there (you said you would like that). Best of all, your free trip will take place in July as you once mentioned your dislike of cold weather in an old post.
