Sorry, Roger, not him! Ein gutes neues Jahr, BTW!
Hint #1: The century is correct!

Hint #2: One of his former professions was being a teacher.

Chester Arthur?

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - Rogerm - 01-01-2014 03:33 PM

Was it either John Adams or John Quincy Adams?

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - Eva Elisabeth - 01-01-2014 04:11 PM

Good guesses from both of you, but it was none of these presidents. Although all three spoke Latin, and J.Q.A. also spoke Greek.
Roger (N.), you are VERY close.

Then I'll guess James Garfield.

I wonder if that gentleman had also said to the lady: "I want to dance with you the worst way"?

Which First Lady told her son, "Your ignorance of politics is not a grave offense. You could not expect to know and enjoy politics as I do."

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - Eva Elisabeth - 01-03-2014 09:47 AM

Sounds like 19th century, so I guess Dolly Madison.

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - RJNorton - 01-03-2014 10:04 AM

Good try, Eva, as you are in the right century. But it wasn't her (she?).

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - Eva Elisabeth - 01-03-2014 12:19 PM

Ok, I'll try Julia Grant then.

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - RJNorton - 01-03-2014 03:10 PM

Nope, not her.

Hint #1: The prize for this is one 64 oz. carton of lemonade.

Abigail Adams?

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - RJNorton - 01-03-2014 03:34 PM

Nope, not her.

Hint #2: The prize has been raised to two 64 oz. cartons of delicious ice cold lemonade.
