I used Relative Finder to see if Lincoln and Boone are related and it shows they are 8th cousins 3 times removed. Smile. It is a fun website to play around on. It uses your familysearch family tree and finds famous relatives. I recently discovered that Donny Osmond is my 4th cousin!

Does it find infamous relatives too?
Is this the site? - https://www.relativefinder.org/#/main

Fido thinks pedigrees are over rated.
He thinks "papers" are for training purposes, or if you can't make it out in time. Blush
He also thinks the puppy training schools have become to liberal.

That is awesome! So they are related. Never knew that.

My disclaimer: trees are only as accurate as the information people have entered. Which may or may not be true! Much of it is true and heavily sourced.
Some not so sourced. But it is still great fun and thought provoking. Once I was teaching a class to a group of people in my church and we created a group on relative finder that showed any relationships we have with each other. Unknown to us, one of my dear friends (a woman I admire tremendously) is my fourth cousin! We share great great great grandparents! (As close as my relationship to the Osmonds) It changed our relationship and I was able to share with her many family treasures I inherited from this ggg grandfather! As with any historical research, seeing the connections allows me to see these historical people differently - knowing they are my "family" I can view them with more curiosity, compassion, and respect - even when I discover those infamous ones. Smile.

I second Gene. Thank you for sharing!

4th cousin is not too far off. That’s pretty amazing.

Speaking of Danial Boone, if you are in area of Western Kentucky, this sounds like an interesting presentation at the McCracken County Library located in Paducah, KY. I plan on going.

Gene that sounds really exciting. If I lived any where in that area I would be going. Please report back on it.

Boone's grave in Louisville, Kentucky is worth visiting. Very scenic! His remains were removed to there from Missouri where he died. I have not been to any of the Boone sites in Missouri. Is there a Daniel Boone grave there also? Since he was first buried there I wonder. Technically, not all of Boone's remains could have been retrievable.

The gravestone in Missouri is beautiful. As it turned out, according to what I read on the website you provided the link to, the remains removed to Kentucky may not have been his at all. I remember reading elsewhere, however, that clothing fragments were found in the grave that led researchers to positively identify it. May or may not be so.

A little more for Anne (Boone) Lincoln. "Her father’s brother, Squire Boone, was the father of Daniel Boone, the pioneer of Kentucky, and a native of Berks county, to whom she was thus first cousin." That last quote was from:

Excellent genealogy information. Is it doubtful that Lincoln knew any of that?
