RE: Killing Patton - Wild Bill - 06-30-2014 08:05 AM I forgot where but I read once that Patton was the only general on the allied (northwestern front) side that the Germans feared. He was unpredictable and he understood Blitzkrieg and applied it to them in reverse. Everyone else from Ike to Monty was readable like a book. RE: Killing Patton - BettyO - 06-30-2014 09:17 AM Is this the title of a new O'Reilly book? Seems like he's always "killing" someone..... RE: Killing Patton - LincolnMan - 06-30-2014 09:40 AM Betty: yes it really is. One wonders who will be "killed" next. RE: Killing Patton - LincolnMan - 07-01-2014 07:29 AM We know Patton had Confederate ancestors. Does anyone know if he had any Union ancestors? RE: Killing Patton - Hess1865 - 07-01-2014 11:42 AM Then there was the story of when the Patton's had John S Mosby as a neighbor. Little Georgie loved hearing Mosby tell him tales about how he fought the Yankees! RE: Killing Patton - LincolnMan - 07-01-2014 07:11 PM Really? Is that true? The Patton family was wealthy and they owned a ranch/farm near Mosby RE: Killing Patton - LincolnMan - 07-05-2014 07:15 PM I just read in Wikipedia (forgive me for that) where Mosby engaged in play with young Patton. It's says that Mosby played himself and Patton played as General Lee. RE: Killing Patton - L Verge - 07-06-2014 11:36 AM Patton had good Southern roots! |
