Interesting....Comedy Ballet

Yes, they pretend to be female dances, and do this perfectly. They don't intend to cheat the audience, but to parody the conventions and clichés of romantic and classical ballet. Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo (all-male drag ballet corps) was founded in New York City in 1974.

Thanks Eva. Great prize. New to me. Amazing what you can find on youtube!

I try another witness rose. Whom and/or what did it (presumably) witness?

RE: Extra Credit Questions - RJNorton - 08-12-2016 09:05 AM

Abraham Lincoln riding his horse to the Soldiers' Home?

RE: Extra Credit Questions - Eva Elisabeth - 08-12-2016 12:52 PM

A very good idea, Roger, but not correct. The rose didn't witness Abraham Lincoln.

Hint #1: I would it think helpful to determine the "setting"/surrounding/place where it grows.

RE: Extra Credit Questions - Gene C - 08-12-2016 06:29 PM

Is this in the Washington D C area?

RE: Extra Credit Questions - LincolnMan - 08-12-2016 07:07 PM

I have a political presidential campaign badge from 1940 that states:
"Lincoln didn't, Washington wouldn't, Roosevelt shouldn't."
What is the badge referring too?

RE: Extra Credit Questions - Gene C - 08-12-2016 07:45 PM

3rd term?

RE: Extra Credit Questions - LincolnMan - 08-12-2016 07:56 PM

Excellent guess Gene---and quite correct!

Good question, but it's not in or near DC.

Hint #2: My hint was rather referring to the kind of surrounding the rose belongs to!.

RE: Extra Credit Questions - RJNorton - 08-13-2016 04:03 AM

I have no idea, so I will ask if this witnessed something Mary Lincoln did when she was in Europe. (?)

RE: Extra Credit Questions - Eva Elisabeth - 08-13-2016 07:32 AM

Roger, Mary would have been my next hint - the rose may* have witnessed her, but not in Europe.
(*Please notice that while it is believed the rose dates back to those days there is no absolute proof!)

Hint #2: I think it was also a smart idea of Gene's to find out the state.

So, in which places would roses grow? (Wilderness?)

RE: Extra Credit Questions - RJNorton - 08-13-2016 07:44 AM

Mary was in Jacksonville, Florida, in March 1875. Could the rose have seen her there?
