RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - L Verge - 05-14-2017 09:59 AM This is just a wild guess, but I wonder if the authorities within the State of Virginia thought that his grave would be better protected within the city limits and within Hollywood Cemetery since he died in the middle of the Civil War? Did they possibly fear the desecration of graves in family cemeteries, especially that of someone considered a traitor by the President of the United States? Two years after his death, that Yankee regiment from Ohio did attempt to destroy Sherwood Forest. RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - RJNorton - 05-30-2017 05:56 AM A record three former Presidents died during his Presidency - who was he? RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - Eva Elisabeth - 05-30-2017 07:54 AM Th. Roosevelt? RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - RJNorton - 05-30-2017 08:03 AM Good try, Eva, but it was not Roosevelt (nor FDR either). But you are in the right century. RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - Rogerm - 05-30-2017 08:52 AM Did this happen during the Presidency of William Howard Taft? RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - L Verge - 05-30-2017 09:03 AM My first thought was George W. Bush because both Ford and Reagan died during his term, but I can't come up with a third. I then thought Coolidge, but only found Harding and Wilson dying during his presidency. I give up. RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - Wild Bill - 05-30-2017 09:10 AM Andrew Johnson RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - RJNorton - 05-30-2017 09:21 AM Thanks to everyone for trying, but no one is correct so far. RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - Steve - 05-30-2017 09:49 AM Richard Nixon RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - Rogerm - 05-30-2017 10:06 AM I am going to second the choice of Richard Nixon, because I know that Lyndon Johnson and Harry Truman died while he was in office. But, I can't think of the third person. I believe that the third former president to have died during Richard Nixon's presidency was Dwight Eisenhower, because he died in 1969, which would have been at the beginning of Nixon's first term. RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - RJNorton - 05-30-2017 11:08 AM Steve and Roger, you win. Kudos. Richard Nixon is the correct answer. 1. Dwight Eisenhower passed away on March 28, 1969. 2. Harry Truman passed away on December 26, 1972. 3. Lyndon Johnson passed away on January 22, 1973. RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - RJNorton - 06-07-2017 04:17 AM Which U.S. President lived the longest? RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - Gene C - 06-07-2017 06:01 AM Gerald Ford at 93 ? RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - RJNorton - 06-07-2017 07:27 AM You win, Gene. Kudos. It is President Gerald Ford who lived for 93 years plus 165 days. RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - Eva Elisabeth - 06-07-2017 09:22 AM MM. Carter and Bush are about to catch up. |
