Lincoln Day by Day
Seems like a good price - $24 New - for this big reference book.
http://www.amazon.com/Lincoln-Day-Chrono...day+by+day So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |

RE: Lincoln Day by Day
Thanks, Gene - is this the same as this in print, or would it contain even more?

RE: Lincoln Day by Day
Nice web site Eva.....I didn't know about it.
I don't know if they are the same, I don't have the 'Day by Day' book, and even though the price seems good, at the moment, I have more books than places to put them. Wouldn't mind having it though. I am going to pass on purchasing it, a decision I may come to regret this time next year. So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |

RE: Lincoln Day by Day
Joe Di Cola sent me an email saying this is a "MUST HAVE" book.
I have purchased a few books based only on his recommendation, and he hasn't steered me wrong. Glad that it appears to be online. - Thanks again Eva & Joe. So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |

RE: Lincoln Day by Day
Not that I need any more books or have any more room as well--- but based on your "must-have" recommendations- I just bought it for $24.00 at Amazon. Sounds like I will not be disappointed.

I am officially out of room for books. I don't know if I can pass this one up though.

RE: Lincoln Day by Day
We sell it in the Surratt gift shop for $35, but there is additional postage above our regular rate because of the weight of this tome.
When I was able to go to Lincoln Group of D.C. meetings, we opened each meeting with a selected reading from this book as to what happened on that specific date that we were meeting. |

RE: Lincoln Day by Day
I recently was in contact with Daniel Stowell who is the editor for the papersofabrahamlincoln project that runs the website thelincolnlog. According to him, it is based on "Day by Day" but new information is added as it becomes known and they also regularly update citations there.
In case of emergency, Lincoln and children first. |

RE: Lincoln Day by Day
I got the book today. I must say it seems very well worth the price. I look forward to looking up what Lincoln did on any given day during his life. More to follow...

RE: Lincoln Day by Day
I just found this book. I purchased and placed it in storage not too long after. I now have a basement full of boxes waiting to be unpacked. But I opened up a box at random and found it contained the book. Made my day.
