Thanks to everyone who posted photos and shared their experiences. I am out of the country and feel very fortunate to be able to check into the forum for updates on this most special event.

No, we did not meet sadly! I spend quite a lot of time with David George and also met with a lot younger history buffs from another board.
I was looking for you and the sports authority chair all evening long and never saw you :-(

Roger, first of all, thank you so much for the first aid super help in posting!!! My iPad does not allow to add attachements when posting and it was really Roger who made it all possible!
My body has completely given up on trying to figure out the time...it just begs for sleep.
But last night and this morning was so worth ity,
Toia and Eva, yes, it WAS crowded and you might not have enjoyed it...even though I would have loved to finally meet you there.
Ok, one last thing - I was told, I think Scott mentioned it, that there is a shortage of the National Geographic issue with Lincoln on the cover. The Barnes&Noble here still has plenty! If you let me know quickly, I can pick them up and mail them to whomever still needs one.

Ford's still had a lot of the Smithsonian mags! You might get a copy there if you email them.
EDIT - if you want to I can also run over there before I leave tomorrow and try to get one. They are open early enough and I am just around the corner . That is if they werent all snatched today

Sadly, I have neither. All I know is that the photographer who took her picture was in Frederick, Maryland. (I've developed a weakness for collecting carte-de-visites lately, and I loved her stand-up collar and her adorably prim expression.)

The vigil on Tuesday evening was moving, especially the music and reverence. I was disappointed, however, with the jackhammer and construction activity that, at times, trumped the Wednesday morning ceremonies. (As some of you may know, there is an office building under construction across the street.) According to a park ranger, the construction company had agreed to stop construction during the early morning activities but, as we know, did not. Perhaps they forgot!

I camped out in various places on the campus. I had the chair in the car, but didn't use it.
