Sergeant Robinson Painting
Found this WONDERFUL painting of George Robinson online at findagrave.com - Never seen this before!
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi...d=26928672 It's supposed to represent the house where he was born in Maine as well as the Congressional Medal awarded to him.... "The Past is a foreign country...they do things differently there" - L. P. Hartley |

RE: Sergeant Robinson Painting
Was wondering what he did to be awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor?

RE: Sergeant Robinson Painting
Not the CMH but a Congressional Gold Medal, for defending the Secretary.

RE: Sergeant Robinson Painting
Oops my bad! I thought it was the medal of honor -- thanks, Jim!
I have a replica of the metal. You used to be able to buy them from the National Mint for only $15.00! I've had mine for about 30 years..... I don't think that they sell them anymore - I occasionally see them online on eBay and they are not in ANYWAY cheap! "The Past is a foreign country...they do things differently there" - L. P. I was in Arlington on Friday. I gave Wes a quick tour. Should have looked up George. He is on Rich's radar, but wasn't on mine.

When you are standing in front of Bobby and Teddy Kennedy, Robinson is in the section behind you over your left shoulder. He's not to far from the walkway intersection near the bushes. http://boothiebarn.com/2012/08/06/george...ons-grave/ I love the name of his wife: Roxinda Aurora. Very unique. |
