Lawrence Gardner, the man who ended the 148 old mystery of the JWB autopsy photo, was a prominent citizen of Washington D.C.. After a short stint selling insurance, Gardner entered politics and became a leading figure in the Democratic party.

Gardner played a significant role in helping his friend and doppelganger Grover Cleveland, win the Presidential Election.

Gardner so resembled Cleveland that he was often mistaken for him during public events.

A dead ringer!

I saw Cleveland's great-grandson on a C-Span show about the Presidents a few years ago.
Facially the fellow was an absolute dead ringer for the president, but he added that luckily from the neck down he didn't resemble Grover!!

Did anyone happen to save John E.'s post of a photographic image of Lawrence Gardner? It doesn't seem to have been saved here since it was posted in 2012. If you did, would you please post it again? Many thanks!

Hi Craig. I did not save it, but I checked John's Facebook page, and found this. Is that the image you were looking for?
