RE: Assassination Trivia
That is sure an excellent guess, Gene, but that is also not the right person.

Could it be Otto Eisenschiml?? I believe he wrote a rather controversial book about the assassination.

RE: Assassination Trivia
I just wanted to post the same guess (thinking of "Why was Lincoln Murdered" - maybe he, like Cesar in "De Bello Gallico", spoke about himself in 3rd person singular?)!

Brilliant, Paige and Eva! It was indeed Otto Eisenschiml.

You both win my very best wishes for a wonderful Sunday.

Yes, you are 5 hours different, and Sunday is now late in the day in Kiel. Therefore, as I feel guilty in awarding such an insubstantial prize, I shall award you a different prize - the book entitled "What did Edwin Stanton Know and When Did He Know It?" No publication date has yet been announced, but I will send when it's available. I shall send Paige a copy, also.

I'm sorry, Roger, I just wanted to delete my ungrateful comment - good wishes are always a great prize! It's just that right today I thought I might fall asleep untypically soon as I didn't sleep well the past two nights, so I had already drawn a line under the day, and your prize made me smile!

What assassination related event happened on this day 150 years ago?

Was this to have been the date of the failed attempted kidnapping of Lincoln on his way to the Soldiers' Home?

John Surratt, David Herold, and George Atzerodt took the weapons to be hidden at the Surratt Tavern. It was a close call as detective John C. Atzerodt was in there drinking at the time.

Good guess Roger! But not what I am looking for, Davey did attend this event his friend was starring in. Thats a hint.

OK. Then I will say John Surratt, Louis Weichmann, George Atzerodt, and David Herold attended Ford's Theatre and saw JWB as Pescara in The Apostate.
