Newspaper Article

Hello! I'm looking for a readable copy of a newspaper article entitled: [iIntelligence from Richmond. Rebel Tactics. Plots to Assassinate or Kidnap President Lincoln.]

i know the article exists. i made a note regarding it but cannot locate it any longer. Can anyone here help? I think it was from the NY Tribune and was printed somewhere in late 1863 to early 1864.

On the Chronicling American website, I found a reprint of the article you're talking about in another newspaper from March 1864:

The New York Tribune is one of the newspapers on the site but I couldn't find the original using a quick wording search from the title for some reason. Although, the article I found does say it originally came from the Tribune. You might be able to use the site and article to find the original article with a more thorough search.

Could you have seen a transcribed copy of the article in Gen Tidwell's Papers while visiting the Hall Research Center at Surratt House? Our new librarian can be contacted at colleen.puterbaugh@pgparks.com

in fact, I'm sure that's where i found out about it! i was there last year and had made as many copies of "stuff" as my few hours would allow and could not find the darn thing! Thanks so much, Laurie! Steve sent me a link to the clipping! You guys and gals are pretty amazing. i sit and read what you all write on here and i feel quickly like an amateur! Thanks for sharing your passions with people like me just learning to be passionate about this whole affair!
