Very nice Dave, A Star is Born
If you are in the area you gotta go see Dave!
It's the next best thing to - Having Dave Go With You
Wish I could go

which reminds me of a song and scene from "A Star is Born" (how appropriate)
"Gotta Have Me Go With You"

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?

Dave is a superb historian who likes to investigate all angles - he reminds me of a young Mike Kauffman - Congratulation, Dave!

RE: Kudos to Dave Taylor on his TV appearance!
Dave stopped by Surratt House after his television interview, and he, Joan Chaconas, and I chatted for over an hour. He's doing a lot of speaking at civic organizations, etc. in our area. In several weeks, he will be taking the assassination story into the Land of Lincoln. He will be talking to the volunteer organization that works in tandem with the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in order to get them up-to-speed on the details of the assassination part of the full Lincoln story.

His partner, Kate Ramirez (also of this forum), is equally busy in our history field. Several weekends ago, she was at the Port Tobacco Market Days in Charles County, where she did a first-person presentation as Mary Surratt. She has also been focusing on the theatrical careers of the Booths and will be talking at Tudor Hall several times this summer.

Oldsters in the field, like Betty, Joan, and I, have been concerned about who will take up the historical torch and carry on when we settle back in our rocking chairs on the nursing home porch and start to drool. Looks like we have at least a handful poised to replace us -- Dave, Kate, Paige, Scott Schroeder...

Congrats Dave!

Laurie, you left out a certain someone in the field who will launch a Youtube channel on assassination related topics November 19, 2016!

RE: Kudos to Dave Taylor on his TV appearance!
Thank you Roger and everyone for your kind words. The TV appearance was very much unexpected as I was only asked about a month and a half ago if I would be willing to spend the garden tour day inside of Huckleberry telling people about Thomas Jones and John Wilkes Booth. Then about a week ago I was told I was being promoted and asked if I would go on TV to help talk about the event. I was happy to do it and the garden tour had a huge turnout. About 450 people made their way through Huckleberry today and it was all I could do to tell the story quickly enough to keep the line from backing up too much.

Eva, as promised, I took some pictures of the interior of Huckleberry after the event was over. I also tried to shoot a short video of the interior but I'm afraid my iPhone video skills are a little motion sickness inducing. But, if you are willing to risk it, I but the video up as well on a post I just wrote: https://boothiebarn.com/2016/05/28/insid...ckleberry/

As Laurie stated, Kate and I have gotten pretty busy with our speaking engagements, which is always a nice problem to have. I always love talking about the assassination with people.

I am very excited about my upcoming speech at the ALPLM in Springfield on June 29th. While it is for their volunteer group, if anyone on the forum lives in the area and is interested in attending, I'd love to have you as my guests. Gene, I know you're sort of in the area and would love to meet up with you and listen to you sing each of those songs you're always putting up here on the Symposium.

Again, thank you all for the support. Little by little I feel less and less like an amateur and more like someone who actually knows what he's talking about. So much of that confidence is because of this informative symposium which always teaches me new things and the supportive community we have in the field.

Thanks for the photos and video, Dave! From outside the house doesn't look like there would be so many (bed)rooms, amazing! Please share a video of Gene and you singing!

Video, yes. But I think we should leave the sound to your imagination. Dave may sing tenor or baritone, but I sing monotone.

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?

Gene - I love your sense of humor! It is raining again here in Southern Maryland - for the umpteenth time this month - and you just made me laugh. Thank you.

If I hear any announcements about how Maryland needs to conserve water this summer because some reservoir is low, even after all this rain, that reservoir has probably sprung a leak.

Thanks for posting the video and link to your Boothie Barn. I wondered what the home looked like inside.
Sounds like a good turn out for the event.

Also nice to see the home appears to be in good hands and is being taken care of

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?

Great interview Dave and thanks for posting the behind-the-scenes tour of the Huckleberry house on your website.

Dave and Kate have done a great job with their special talks at Tudor Hall. Jim Garrett will be speaking on 6/5 at 2pm to discuss John Wilkes Booth and Tudor Hall. For more info you can click here: http://spiritsoftudorhall.blogspot.com/

We have bean dealing with the drought in California for a very long time. We have been getting some rain recently but not enough. We haven't turned on our sprinklers for a while and just let our grass in the front yard turned brown. Sad
