Something new about my Civil War ancestor every week!
Today, I saw a Tin-Type photograph of my Great-Grandfather for the first time in my life.He was a POW in Texas and survived to farm in the Finger-Lakes region of NewYork State. The photo had him in uniform with a sword. He was in front of the U.S.Flag and his tent.To me,that was amazing!

That's great Herb. How and where did you find the Tin-Type?

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?

My ancestor[88yrs old] was given the Tin-Type[1863] as a family posession for a wedding present.I estimate it's value as"priceless".

It is indeed. I don't have any tin-types of my Civil War ancestors. Very priceless!
