Bill, thank you for posting the sad news. I just read the Wikipedia article on him and learned many things I did not know including the fact that he was a speechwriter for Barry Goldwater in 1964.
Thanks for posting Bill. I had heard Jaffa's name related to Lincoln scholarship/study but knew next to nothing about him. Like Roger I read the Wikipedia page on him. Quite interesting.
Bill, my knowledge of Jaffa and his writings is very superficial, but that will likely change in the coming months. He sounds like he was a very interesting man, not to mention brilliant.
And just 3 years short of reaching his 100th birthday...
