RE: Dr. Mudd item on 'Pawn Stars'
I made up heard this rumor: There was a spot on the coverlet, so it was put in the washing machine (on the gentle cycle) and the spot came out. So far, so good. It was then placed in the dryer, and when the bell rang to signal it was dry, the only thing they could find was a lot of fuzz in the lint filter.

I've had that happen to my socks, so it's possible. Huh

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?

A number of the reputable online auction houses that handle historical items have a feature on their websites that alert you by email when certain items are up for bid. For example, you can ask to be notified when any item related to "John Wilkes Booth" or "Abraham Lincoln" are listed for bidding.

Maybe the coverlet went the way of the socks!

RE: Dr. Mudd item on 'Pawn Stars'
I didn't see the episode of Pawn Stars featuring the alledged Mudd artifact. My first off the cuff reaction to it is one of skepticism regarding the item. However, things like this turn up occasionally- something that was hidden away in an attic somewhere-or whatever. So while we may have our doubts- we must not outright reject until further investigation proves either way.
