PS: Can't help adding the 'Darlin." Reminds me of Lonesome Dove.

Gus McCrea always referred to the character named Laurie as, "Laurie Darlin'.

That reminds me of a song

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?

RE: A Wonderful Find ...
This character named Laurie had the policeman, who rode with her many long years ago to get her driver's license, sing Annie Laurie to her the whole time! My parents had refused to get an automatic gear car until I learned to drive the old Plymouth with its gear shifts. Do you have any idea what it does to your nerves to have a cop with a bad voice singing Annie Laurie in your right ear while you have to stop at a red light on an incline, downshift, and start going again without rolling backwards?

And, Rick and Joe and Jim and those who might enter my office after this - sing Annie Laurie to me, and you are going to get slapped!

That's a tough song to sing well. But this is one of the better versions of it that I've heard
