RE: Edward P. Doherty
Jeff,
William C. Edwards worked with forum member Ed Steers on the book The Lincoln Assassination: The Evidence so if you can't find contact information maybe you could send Ed a private message. As for the National Archives, good luck in trying to get them to help you. Others may have different experiences but I've never been that lucky. If you want to be sure to get it, and get it while you are still young, your best bet would be to hire a researcher to get it for you. It will obviously cost you more than just a copying fee but I guarantee you will get it much quicker and it will be right. I have an excellent researcher in Washington that I would be happy to put you in contact with if you go that route. She charges $60 an hour but she does excellent work. Thanks for the kind words on my article. Best Rob Abraham Lincoln is the only man, dead or alive, with whom I could have spent five years without one hour of boredom. --Ida M. Tarbell
I want the respect of intelligent men, but I will choose for myself the intelligent. --Carl Sandburg
