Thanks for posting the links for those articles. After reading them, I have a greater appreciation for Stanton and the incredible burden he must have been under at the time. He had to deal with a real conspiracy, and did not have Seward to help him.
Poor Mary! So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |
