He was, no doubt, hidden in the secret room at the Surratt boardinghouse that few knew how to find by pushing a certain book on the shelves in the parlor. This lends credence to the thought that Booth did stop at the boardinghouse after the assassination -- only it wasn't to pick up a hat, but to be hustled into that secret room. It was a story that Mrs. Surratt, Anna, Weichmann, and John Surratt all carried to their graves...

For years, I have told visitors to Surratt House that Booth is still alive and living with JFK, Elvis, and Hitler on a Pacific island with Amelia Earhart as their housekeeper. This article backs up my tongue-in-cheek claims!
