We put the clothes in a trash bag and sealed it with duct tape until we could get home and leave the clothes outdoors.

When I was a child, there was a very serious disease called Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever (Tick Fever for short). I had to get shots every year against it because I lived in a rural area and we owned pets. Today, we worry about Lyme Disease that is spread by deer ticks.
